I do, we do, you do!
I do….
Teacher models using language and thinking out loud. Children can see the process and the teacher emphasizes the expectations that all children should achieve. This involves explicit teaching, modeling and demonstration.
We do…
We do it together and the teacher helps, responds, and scaffolds instruction. This involves guided practice, asking questions, and having conversations. If children need extra support, we do it together and then offer extra support and more structured conversation and guidance.
You do!
Children do the work independently and the teacher watches and responds accordingly. This is where we see the children apply new knowledge, skills, concepts and vocabulary.
